As Board-Certified Emergency Physician you will have to maintain your ABEM certification . In order to do so, you will have to participate in ABEM's four-component Emergency Medicine Continuous Certification program .
For the second component of the Certification program - Lifelong Learning and Self-Assessment or LLSA , you will be required to take the annual tests. These tests are based on selected readings from the emergency medicine literature. The test is scored in the following manner: achieve a passing grade—90% or better on the 2007 test; 85% or better on the 2008, 2009, and 2010 tests.
